Title: Installing Cacti Problems

Howdy yall,

Just went to install Cacti to see what it is like and following the howto here:

I had a couple of problems:

Firstly the howto just needs a little bit of updating, just two little changes:

wget ftp://speedfactor.ath.cx/cacti/RPMS/e-smith-cacti-0.1-1.noarch.rpm
needs to be changed to:
wget ftp://speedfactor.ath.cx/cacti/RPMS/e-smith-cacti-0.1-2.noarch.rpm

and

rpm -ivh e-smith-cacti-0.1-1.noarch.rpm
of course now needs to be:
rpm -ivh e-smith-cacti-0.1-2.noarch.rpm

Secondly when I went to install the snmp rpm's I got this error:

error: failed dependencies:
        libcrypto.so.1   is needed by ucd-snmp-4.2.3-1.7.0.4
        libcrypto.so.1   is needed by ucd-snmp-utils-4.2.3-1.7.0.4

Both of these I have emailed to the author and just wondering if anyone can tell me what to do now?

I am using SME 5.5u3, thanks!

Hello Cyrus,

In a old readme of boris he is writing the next info

STEP 3: Configure Ucd-snmp for e-smith

shell> mv /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf.old
shell> echo > /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf
shell> ln -s /lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.6b /lib/libcrypto.so.1
shell> service snmpd restart
 
In the 3rd line he linkt de real libary to the fake whith that what is nessary.

Works like a charm for SME 5.5.... at least to me!
If you have any problems I can verify what EXACT version of RPM I have on my SME installs! I just installed one yesterday!

I have made installations on both 5.5U2 and 5.6 by following this Howto.

"How to Install MRTG system monitoring with SNMP Support"

located at: http://sme.swerts-knudsen.dk/howto.htm

Follow everything until the line:

Now you are ready to do the actual MRTG installation

I can´t Understand...
I´ve been using cati in my 5.5 box, but yn my 5.6 one doesn't work... well it works but no graphs appear... i can't understand why.
I have read a lot oh how-to but i don't know what's wrong with my computer...
have any idea?
