Title: Church Software
Post by: Jehu on April 07, 2003, 04:33:28 PM
I have to do an e-smith install for a church.  I would like to know if there are any software’s out there that could work on this box that would keep track of membership and the donations they give.
They also have a projection system and would like songs, bible verses and announcement to be projected from a database for quick searches.  I am no expert at Linux or MySQL.
As this is a small church just getting started they do not have a lot of funds so if the software is free or very cheap and runs on the e-smith box please let me know.

Thank in advance,

Jehu.

Lots of good books out there on writing MySQL databases and creating web based front ends using forms. Shouldnt be too difficult to modify one of them for your needs. Also lots of good MySQL websites with example code you could borrow / modify. Try a search on the web and I'm sure you'll find something you can use.

The donations dbase for example is really just an addressbook with an additional field for donations.

Is the first 4 chapters of a book on MySQL and PHP, only these chapters are free to download - most of the information you'll need to create your own dbases and access them from web pages using php can be found in there though.

Maybe try phprojekt and then throw the budget add-on in there. It might take a little bit of hacking but it sure would be a nice solution. If you do hack it up and get it working right, let us know as there are a few folks out there that could use a solution like that.

Let us know how it goes.

Kevin,
Can you create HowTo install InfoCentral.
After I install InfoCentral I got error message like this;
