Hi,
I'm having a bit of a disaster. E-Smith crashed in one of our remote offices and a colleague rebuilt it.
It was configured to port forward SMTP to our Exchange Server. I've attempted to do this again by putting the IP of our Exchange Server in the 'Delegate Mail Server' Box.
However, when I telnet to the Internet IP of the E-Smith Box on port 25 I seem to be connecting to E-Smith's ESMTP service.
So as we stand, all our email is being bounced. I've read some of the comments in the forum to suggest port forwarding doesn't work in 5.5 but I'm sure it worked before.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ciaran.

make sure you are using the version for ipchains. the new ones are for iptables
hope this helps

The port forwarding contrib for 5.5 works fine, as Chris says, make sure it IS the one for 5.5. As for the delegate mail server, not sure how well that works as I've never used it.

Thanks for your quick responses, they were much appreciated.
I was just using the delegate mail server, reading your replies I remembered discovering it didn't work in the past and using the port forwarding contrib.
I'd got mixed up and though the 'delegate' mail server feature was implementing port forwarding.
Late night panic strikes again.
Thanks,

The delegate mail server feature has always worked, or at least, nobody has ever reported otherwise.
