Title: Multidrop retrieval issues....
Post by: Tor Tveitane on May 07, 2003, 02:35:50 AM
Hi,

I use e-smith 4.1.2

We have a problem with messages relayed from our domain hoster.  Messages sent to mailing lists which contain no valid address to our domain in their 'To' or 'Cc' address will have the 'real' address (to a user in our domain) in the following header line (in this example the message is for user 'someguy'):

Received: from cust_req_fwding (someguyl@mydomain.net -- mailbox@mydomain.net) by lmg.ahnet.net id <289576-27073; Tue, 6 May 2003 00:57:47 -0700

Such messages are automatically forwarded to the postmaster, which is kind of annoying as the needed address is already there in one of the headers.  Would it be somehow possible to have e-smith look for the header line starting with:

Received: from cust_req_fwding

... and use the address immediately following the opening paranthesis as the 'real' address.  Would this be possible to achieve by using the

Configuration / Email retrieval / Select sort header (for multi-drop) field?

If so, what should I put in that field?

Thanks a lot if someone would be able to help me with this.

best regards

Tor

http://www.dungog.net/sme/help
>admin tools > user manager
forward admins mail to a user
set up procmail rules for that user to sort the mail based on the headers
