Title: Problem with restore

I have a backup of my SME 5.0 a 3.1GB file. I lost the hard drive on the system and decided to install SME 5.6 on hte new hard drive.  now here comes the problem... when you try to restore is fails. i have looked through the posting and  I have found a few notes about problems with doing restores when the file is larger than 2GB. have anoyone found a way to perform a restore when the file is larger than 2GB? On the new system I have installed the new bachup/restore to workstation..

From everything I've read and understand, I don't think you can restore from that 3.1Gb file, unfortunately, not using restore from desktop backup anyway.

Moral of the story is always test your backup/restore process fully, before you actually need it.

You probably can do a reinstal of the OS and manually configure everything again. Then use WinRar or linux RAR to restore particular data files to the ibays etc.
