Title: yi.com
Post by: Laurent VARTANIAN on May 11, 2001, 01:48:39 AM
Hello,

One of the dynamic DNS organisations name given by e-smith is www.yi.com
I must be tired (or idiot), but I can't figure out how this one must be set up.
I tried www.yi.com and I get a web page asking me an IP address
then, you are asked a login / password ...
Does anyone have the clue ?
Thanks

dyndns is a great solution. I've never had any problem with them nor with their client software under e-smith (ADSL Netissimo 1 / Wanadoo).

I think it's the easiest solution with e-smith.

Regards.

I understand yi.com is not accepting new registrations, which is why you see only that infuriating logon page - I had the same problems a couple of weeks or so ago. It would be helpful if they told people that....

As noted there are several other services that do the same job. I've used HammerNode (www.hn.net), because it allows real domain names to be used.

Oops - should be www.hn.org. My apologies.
