Hi,

I get no response in general forum so ill try here:

SME 5.6 comes with GL 1.xx - I need GL 2.xx to run a gallery for better quality thumbs.

Howto install on SME?

In order to get the new GD library, you'll need to update PHP (and then IMP/Horde too 'cuz it'll brek under the newest PHP).

I think Dan Brown has a how-to and rpms for PHP 4.3-something in the contribs part of ftp.e-smith.org.

I've been toying with the idea of upgrading also, but supposedly there was a vulnerability in php 4.2x and it wasn't slated to be fixed by 4.30.  Anybody know if this has been fixed yet?

I have RPMs of php 4.3x, but no HOWTO--I don't recommend them unless you know what you're doing, because they will break horde.
