Title: Urgent help needed

went to install update 5 from tech geeks .com and after a reboot i cant putty into the machine anymore or access server managerr from a remote computer and cannot pass through it to get to the internet anymore can anyone help me polease

When you putty into the machine are you using telnet, ssh, shh2?

Make sure you have enabled whatever connection method you use in the server pannel

did you try rebooting it?
similar thing happened to me when i upgraded mine, reboot fixed it.

Thanks for your ideas steve but it was the reboot that did it in the first place. I had been configuring the network cards manuall yat command line and when i rebooted the machine after doing the upgrade it set the ip 's back to the server manager settings which were different to the ones i was using so a quick ifconfig gave me the answer i was looking for and once i changed this and rebooted the machine it came straight on. Being pretty new to computers a linux/e-smith i was freekin out but once i looked at it calmly i found an answer. Thanks again. Krusty
