Title: General Question (ipsec & 5.6)
Post by: Adserg on May 27, 2003, 04:31:50 PM
Hi All

I have been doing some reading in General and Experienced  forum.

I cant find anyone who has done an ipsec tunnel between 2 sme servers 5.6 and actually got it working?

Loads of issues and loads of modifying scripts but no one actually using it in anger.

Has anyone actually got 5.6 working?  Is Ipsec still 128bit encryption? has it changed ie 3des?

Kind Regards

Adserg

Hi,

it works fine, even to 5.5 boxes.
If you have only SME 5.6 and correct domainnames the devinfo-freeswan-1.99-6sme56.noarch.rpm version should work.

For a mixed environment (5.5 and 5.6) use my newer version devinfo-freeswan-1.99-8sme56.noarch.rpm (download at http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/saco/contrib/devinfo-freeswan-1.99/).
There is one new option in the panel to change the ID of the freeswan server between domainname and external ip-adress in this version.
