Title: DHCPCD timeout
Post by: Andre Courchesne on May 27, 2003, 09:16:30 PM
Hi,

I have a server that keeps getting off-line because it can not get a new DHCP lease from the ISP in the default timeout of 60 seconds. Here is what I see in the log:

May 27 10:18:26 procam dhcpcd[720]: broadcasting DHCP_REQUEST for 66.131.13.104
May 27 10:19:26 procam dhcpcd[720]: timed out waiting for DHCP_ACK response
May 27 10:19:26 procam dhcpcd[720]: broadcasting DHCP_DISCOVER
May 27 10:20:26 procam dhcpcd[720]: timed out waiting for a valid DHCP server response
May 27 10:20:26 procam ifup:  failed.
May 27 10:20:26 procam network: Determining IP information for eth1... failed.
May 27 10:20:26 procam network: Bringing up interface eth1:  failed

Where can I change the dhcpcd timeout? I know it's the '-t' option, but I can find the configuration file to change it...

Thanks,

Ok, I changed the DHCPCDARGS in /sbin/ifup, but do I need to change it anywhere else?
