Hi,
E-Smith mentions it supports dynamic dns. How do you configure it in the console? Could not find a dynamic dns area.
Also, How can I use it as a mail server without a registered domain name?
If I decide to have a registered domain and am using dial up so I make the e-smith how will the dynamic dns work or can it?
Please be specific or give specific references. I have read the manual and searched the admin browser and the actual console.

Terry, Dynamic DNS needs to be set up with the text based "configuration" when installing e-smith, along with all the other options (domain name, IP address etc). However, you will need to go to a dynamic DNS vendor, such as the ones listed in the e-smith documentation (a worthwile download). Then set up an account and register your domain name. I have personally tried www.dyndns.org it is a free service and I found it worked a treat, however I would not use the service for a business website, or any mission critical internet based services.
