Title: Unable to browse

I am having trouble at a client site where i can not browse. The sme will go to certain sites but most site it will not go to and it brings up the above error message in the messages log. It will keep scrolling these messages for sites that you try to access that you can not get to. The router is ok if i connect directly to it (plug it directly to the network) i can browse all the sites but through the sme no go i can not even do the internet test in server console it says failed

Jun  2 09:58:12 SERVER console: Response to Internet test was: Can't connect to servertest.e-smith.com:80 (Bad hostname 'servertest.e-smith.com'

email is working fine and as i said some sites i can go to ok and move around the site. i beleive it is having trouble resolving dns. any suggestions

Have you got your proxy set correctly? ie sever ip, port =3128?

Strange i found it was somthing in the router. Even though i could connect to the router and get on the internet. When i repalced the routher with a diffrent model all ok. I tried to reset the setting on the unit but did not work even took off all the firewall rules but still no go. But working now with the new setup

Hmm, had a similar prob here where a client had a modem/router that would not allow browsing of certain sites.  Replace said router with SME box and all is cool and fruity.

Weird but true :-)

One more SME convert in the stable.
