How do I make IMP require the full email-address instead of just the username?
E.g. "user@mydomain.tld" instead of just "user".
Or is this not a setting to make in the config of IMP, but in my user-config or IMAP/SMTP-deamon config instead? In that case how do I set this?
Thank you
Your help is highly appreciated.

To get you on the track, please consult www.horde.org for this is a specific IMP (Horde framework) question.

No, HF, this isn't an IMP-specific question, as IMP just passes the username along to the IMAP daemon. However, (1) I'm not aware of any way to set the IMAP daemon to require this, and (2) I can't see any benefit it would serve anyway.

I suspect this is a "virtual domain" issue in disguise. I wouldn't be surprised if it was connected to a discussion of "user@domain1.com vs user@domain2.com" in short order...

I bet it is, but even then you'll need two different accounts on your server, each with its own unique ID which can be used to log-in on IMP. This is pritty much like every ISP in the world works: an ugly account ID and a better looking e-mail adres linked to that account.
