Title: ApacheMP3 streaming configuration
Post by: Amanda on June 17, 2003, 01:18:43 PM
SME 5.6. I installed ApacheMP3. If I click on "fetch" it launches winamp & plays one track fine. If I try & stream a playlist I get a host not found error.
The server is server3.home (Lan) but the host it looks for when trying to stream is www.home.

Should I just add an entry into the clients host file making www.home point at the server's IP address?

Is there a mis-configuration in the SME-Server itself?

Or is there a bug in Apache or the ApacheMP3 php files?

btw, where are the php files. I can't seem to find them.

Any help greatly appreciated.

i used to have no end of problems with streaming mp3's from sme server, with all kinds of client software ....

the best solution by far i have found is netjuke - does everything you ever wanted and i am yet to find a problem with it .....

Just for the record, I followed my option 1, and added www.home to the "hosts" file on my clients. Now it works a treat.
