I just built a new server to be installed tomorrow. SME 5.6, Upd 4. I have created one ibay, and from any Win2K client, get this message:
\servername\ibayname is not accessible
The network name cannot be found.
I *CAN* access my home directory from this or another Win client, and can transfer files back and forth from/to it, but a regular ibay won't allow access. I've tried deleting the ibay and adding a new one with a different name, and that didn't help. I could swear this was working earlier -- all I did was add the user names today.
ibay has a legal name, is set for:
group = everyone
write = group, read = everyone
No Web or FTP access
No dynamic content
The same things happen from a KDE Linux desktop: I can transfer to my home directory, but when I try to transfer to the ibay, it seems to start to copy, then errors off, saying drive no longer exists.
Your help would be enormously appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

I think I fixed it, but I'm uneasy. I went into the server as root, and found that my old, deleted ibay was still there, and the new one was not, even though the opposite was true from a network client.
From a browser, I created the old ibay again, and that succeeded. Then I created the new one again, and that worked. Now both are accessible from a win client.
I can't really post this to bugs, as I don't know how it happened, though I will do so if asked. However, there were a few files in the supposedly-deleted ibay, and that may have prevented it from being hatcheted and then confused something else.
Thanks,
Tom
