Title: raid controller - Dell poweredge 600SC
Post by: Steve on July 01, 2003, 04:43:19 AM
Is anyone using a raid controller with the poweredge 600SC?  I'm trying to install 5.6, and it's not recognizing it.

This is the first time I've used a raid controller.  Computer is new.  (setup for hardware raid1 mirroring)

Forgot to mention, it also has a tape drive w/ controller if that makes a difference.

I am using the CERC ATA100/4Ch hardware RAID controller.  I have managed to install Dell's meagraid-1.118f-1.i386.rpm driver, and some of their utilities:
dellmgr-5.25.0.i386.rpm - manages the RAID ok using console
linflash-2.15-0.i386.rpm - flashes the firmware: installed ok, but not used yet.
megamon-3.6-0.i386.rpm - monitors the RAID, emails warnings: installed OK but don't know how to test!
percsnmp-4.07-1.i386.rpm - the Dell management agent for remote managemetn: problems installing because it couldn't find snmptrap in /usr/bin.  Fixed by installing
ucd-snmp-utils-4.2.5-7.73.0.i386.rpm, in addition to
ucd-snmp-4.2.5-7.73.0.i386.rpm which was already installed. I still haven't manage to connect to the server using Dell's web based tool on the workstation. Anyone else succeeded?
