Post by: Krusty on July 01, 2003, 10:06:40 AM
can not access the server manager remotely or from the local machine. Does anyone know the possible cause and a solution to  this problem? Thanks in advance

Krusty,

Have you tried restarting the http-admin service?

Anything in the messages log?

If the first doesn't work then maybe this will.

Found this on http://www.minddigger.com

Login with putty as root.

Then enther the following four commands:
chmod 550 /etc/e-smith/web/panels/
chmod 550 /etc/e-smith/web/functions/
chmod 550 /etc/e-smith/web/common/
chmod 755 /etc/e-smith/events/actions/

I believe this'll works on post SME 5.0 versions, haven't tried it though. Maybe though I'm giving you some terrible advise. ;-) So use at your own risk.

And if you want to read up on it you might try visiting minddigger, its in Dutch so maybe not for you.

Regards,

Jan
