Title: WebMail Delete Behaviour?
Post by: Jim Danvers on July 01, 2003, 09:30:36 PM
Gents...

I have noticed something different w/my mailserver and the way that it has been handling deleted mail recently (web mail).  Ever since the very first day that I got my little server up and running, I have ~always~ had to select 'purge delete' after deleting mail msgs from the web interface.  I'm not sure when specifically this behaviour started, but I noticed it about a week ago ...  now when I delete a msg(s) from the web interface it ~deletes~ them.  No if's or butt's about it - hit delete - poof!  Gone.  I don't mind this, but at the same time, the previous behaviour (wouldn't really be deleted until purged) did save me from accidental deletions from time to time....

Anyone ever seen this behaviour?  any ideas as to what has caused it to change, and if so - how can I get it back to the 'old way' of NOT deleting until purged?

TIA....

Is it possible you have clicked on the "Hide Deleted" link?  If so, under the Move/Copy drop down box it would now say "Show Deleted".  Also, in the Options, there is a Deleting and Moving messages section which can be set to move messages to a trash folder instead of marking as deleted, make sure you haven't turned that on as well.

Show Deleted.  Ah ha...  yup - there they are.  Dunno how (or why) I would have checked that, but obviously I must have at some point....   lol!

Thanks!
