Title: enable sftp for users
Post by: Len on July 03, 2003, 03:05:50 AM
HI all,

Can anyone tell me how to allow users to use sftp? I have no problem connecting as root, using FileZilla on port 22. I did search for this but didn't find an answer.
Since SSH is there, I'd much rather use sftp for remote access than ftp!

Thanks
Len

To use ssh or sftp, the user needs a valid shell - see the FAQ.

Thanks,

Gordon

Gordon,
Thanks very much for the reply. I looked through the fax, but cannot fond anything relating to sftp or a valid shell for users. Do you know where I should look?

HI all,
Sorry - I meant I read through the FAQ!
It didn't help, but I did find what I was looking for in the HowTo's.
Anyone else interested should follow the link below.
