Title: webpage only available via https
Post by: Hans on July 04, 2003, 02:17:50 AM
Hi

I have just made a fresh install of e-smith 5.6. I can only access my webpage via https, not http. How come, and what to do?

Your ISP is blocking port 80.

Live with it? Get a different ISP?

Port 80 is not the problem. I had a 5.5 working for some time, until i made a fresh install of 5.6. No problem accessing pages via http.

I tried the 5.6 for some time ago, but gave up as i couldt access the server manager on http://192.168.x.x/server-manager. Its strange cos that is the address that e-smith itselfs mentions for the location of the server-manager. I gave up on 5.6 and went for 5.5 and it worked. As i tried 5.6 again today i couldn't access the server manager until i tried with https... as it turns out, after at bit of poking around i now can see my webpages, but only via https.

Suggestions?
