Title: Diald and mtu sizes.
Post by: Duncan on July 06, 2003, 01:30:29 PM
I have a problem with a couple of customers whos ISP has gone along and changed there dial in method.

One of the requirements is setting the connections to use an mtu of 576. While it is not really a problem getting ppp0 to come up with this mtu size - I am having some difficulties getting diald to use the value. I have tried adding "mtu 576" to the diald.conf file/template but it still uses 1500 during the connection phase. I end up getting an LCP time out error.

On the odd occasion that it connects - I can issue "ifconfig ppp0 mtu 576" and the internet/mail etc starts working.

Looking at the diald readme - the above is all I should need to do - just doesnt seem to work.

Any clues?

Be very useful if you could find the time to post how you fixed it. So that others searching for a solution actually find one instead of wasting time reading a very promising thread with no conclusion.

Cheers
Dave.
