Title: a new version of e-smith
Post by: rmt on May 22, 2001, 11:54:00 PM
When does there come a new  version of e-smith were i can simply an ISDN card.
Just take a look at www.smoothwall.org, It is very simple there to install and it works great,

Of course e-smith is much better, does much more features in it and works great,
But a lot of company's in Europue want to use ISDN, and is it very difficult to install.

Greez,

We advise the use of external TA's for several reasons like performance and control (they have a on/off switch and you can manually control the connection (-expenses). They are also much easier to install. In most case you must change 2 files in the directory /etc/e-smith/templates/sysconfig/networkscripts/chat-ppp0 to and remove unsupported Hayes-AT commands to get an external ISDN-adaptor working.
In the e-smith fora several authors wrote instructions how to install passive ISDN-cards.

Succes,

Fred
