Title: HA server-gateway
Post by: Mike Costantino on July 11, 2003, 11:29:44 PM
I have setup a pair of systems using RequestedDeletion's how-to "http://www.star-support.com/sme/Linux-HA/SME%20High%20Availability%20How-To.html" but I kept the systems in server-gateway mode and installed the drbd network on eth2. Now I would like to use "goliath" as the primary server, and "david" as the secondary server. I have a DNS service that supports round robin DNS so I really only have to have the two servers sync all of the user logins, and mail, web pages, etc. in realtime, and failover all of the services (mail, http, DHCP, etc.) to david in the event of failure.
I think heartbeat can take care of the services, but I am un-clear on the syncing of the user logins, and mail.
I've serched these forums without success. Anybody have a how-to?

Hi Mike,
If You want to all users files and mails syncing. You have to give users home directory path to your data disk which your are mirror.so it will mirror users file and mails on david also.I have done this it works perfectly. But this only is not enough You have to copy your passwd, gpasswd, smbpasswd and some more files also to david , so user can login on david.
