Title: Panel Access
Post by: Steven on July 14, 2003, 02:40:13 PM
Hi guys

2 questions - How long does it usually take to go from beta to product release?
I want to try SME 6, but I don't want to download the beta if the full release will be out in a week or 2.

I can't remeber how to access my user panels that I installed, on a user level.
I'm sure I used to go into the web setup as normal, but instead of using the admin/password it would be username/password, but this is just giving me access denied.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks
Steven

Hi,

1. You have to be patient and wait... afterall we all want to run without major bugs..
2. https://servername/user-manager (servername=IP on LAN)

Try https://yourdomain/user-manager

logon with the users username and password, note that you will need to enable User Panel Access for required users in server manager first

As for v6 final release dates Mitel never says, personally I would not wait, I doubt that v6 final will be released that soon.

My Mitel supplier told me it will be released in ± 2 weeks!

Steven, you're going about this incorrectly. Rather RSYNC the beta file to your machine. Presumably are running linux. The process can run overnight and if it crashes it carries on from where it left off. Then when the new release comes out simply RSYNC this again, and it will only download the changes, or updates, not the entire file. Have a look at the many howtos on RSYNCing. Enjoy.

Thanks Sascha, I didn't reaslise it only downloaded the changes, I'll do that.

As for the panel access, I know how to get to it, it just rejects my username and password, and I know that they are correct, so now i'm lost.

sorry guys, being stuuuupid again
I was using a link that I created in IE which only pointed to /domain, not /domain/user-manager.
Strange that I could access the main panel with this link though?

Thanks for the help
