SME 6.0bata2 VPN and Samba problem
Ok I gave up on sme 5.6 and VPN. My windows 2003 VPN server disconnects my users two or three times a day. Here is the setup. My main office has SME6.0b2 set up to except pptp VPN’s. My other office has a linksis router sharing there internet connection. The people at the remote office can connect to the sme6.0 server no prob via vpn. But they get a strange subnet mask of 255.255.255.255. Only one computer can map to the network drive on the sme server at a time. Even though they have different ip’s. It won’t even let you ping the ip when one is on.
My first question is how I get the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 instead of 255.255.255.255
The other problem is I can upload files to my shares but I can’t open or download. I have a drive mapped to the SME6.0b2 and a windows computer. They both have the same problem. Both have open permissions. So I suspect that it has to do with the vpn’t ip and not samba or windows. BTW all client computers are windows xp with all the updates. They also have the update to fix the bad vpn update windows released.
I know 6.0 isn’t support but any help would help me out a lot.
Thanks
