For some reason I can't access server-console. I can login in as root and I can access server-manager from the browser. But when I get on the server and login in as admin it blinks once and returns me to the login script. Last night I set up the server at home with different IP/network settings with the intention of accessing the server console and changing them to the right settings for the workplace. Can't seem to find anything with a search anyone help me?

Login as root, and then type
/sbin/e-smith/console
Tell us what happens. Include any errors.

No joy, does the same thing as signing on as 'admin'. No error messages, it just clears the screen and takes you back to a prompt. I looked all over for the method to start 'console' from root. Heh, guess it pays to know the file system. 8^) Thanks for the tip. Got any more?

Do you have SSH (Allow administrative command line access over secure shell) enabled ?
If NO enable it in the web manager under menu "remote access", and try to access the server with SSH.
If YES, well I would try the MS trix, an reboot.

Thanks Mats
I have access to everything except server-console. When I goto the server using putty the same thing happens, I login in as admin, enter the PW press enter and it (in putty) takes me right back to a login prompt or exits. I may have to reinstall because I need to get this server up. Thanks for your help.

As I said, have you tried rebooting ?
I had an simmilar expewrience where I finaly had to reboot du to lack of time to do the trouble shooting.

Yes, I tried several times to no avail. I went ahead and reinstalled, it's so easy to do that it makes sense. Just don't like the box to get the better of me.
