Has anybody encountered a problem with Macintosh computeres dealing with files with special caracters in the file names?
If the file is originated on a windows computer, and copied to a share that the Mac computers can see, the Mac can not get access to files with special danish caracters in the name. See the files, yes, but not copy or open them. And they can not recognize the caracter correctly, either.

SME version what? MacOS version what? Windows version what?
This should work fine in MacOS X (10.2+).
In pre-MacOS X versions (6-9) you should be running a Danish localized version of MacOS for full character support.
If you are then I suggest doing some searches regarding Samba and extended character sets, that's probably where your problem lies.

Thanks, bu tI don't see how it can be a Samba problem? But I'll look in to it, all the same.

I have the same Problem especially with filenames longer than 31 characters and with more than one "."-character.
I looked for samba-settings but have not found anything really helpful yet.
