Title: 2 SME boxes - same domain?
Post by: Per Sørensen on August 11, 2003, 11:40:11 PM
Hi

I am going to set up a file server on the LAN, i already have a server/gateway. Both will be SME 5.6 U4.

How do i set up the domain name on the file server, is that going to be the same as the server gateway or should it be something like localdomain.crap?

There wil be users with same username and password on both servers.

If those are just  a fileservers, you should worry about Internet Domain Names. Put anything like local.lan or similar. The important part is Workgroup/Domain (Samba) information and server names configured in the Workgroup menu of server-manager.
