Title: AMD XP2200+ and SMP/UP
Post by: René Nielsen on August 13, 2003, 11:07:30 AM
Hi, my SME box is a server 6.0 update3 and I was wondering if my processor (AMD XP 2200+) was properly installed!

What is the correct setting SMP or UP? or does is matter?

Thanks in advance

That's 6.0 beta 3 - there is no "6.0" - yet.

SMP = multiprocessor kernel (2+ processors in your box)
UP = uniprocessor (1 processor)

How many do you have?

I have one processor (AMD XP2200+), so I guess UP would be the correct setting!

Is this correct?

I have a Compaq 5500R Quad Pentium II 400 MHz proc's.  I have installed PHPSYSINFO and it is only reporting one proc.  How can I tell if E-smith 6.0 b3 utilizes all 4?

THANKS!

How about ssh into the box, and run the top command. That will show.

I also have a quad 5500 with 4x550mhz cpu's and all I get with 6.0 is one CPU showing. Any ideas?
