Title: Automatically Zipping Email Attachments
Post by: Brett Knuchel on August 27, 2003, 11:14:05 AM
Is there something that will allow for the automatic zipping up of attachments over a certain size?  No matter how many times users are told to zip attachments over a certain size, everyone seems to think they are the exception.  We are using a dialup connection but even when we go to ADSL we will want this as traffic limits apply to most plans in Australia.

there is a program called bx autozip, which has selectable size for auto zip function and it works quite well, except for an issue it has when forwarding mail. it seems to screw up when mail is forwarded and involves attachments

Unfortunately it also doesn't support Outlook Express.
I also noted that it is shareware.
Preferable solution is freeware and that it is implemented at the server level.
Thanks anyway.
