Title: sh: /usr/bin: is a directory (found in httpd/error_log)

and this means what... on a SME v5.6u2 (server/gateway) box!?

Could it be coupled with, what looks like, a glitch in the SME server manager control panel? At the top, above the server manager Security section's included lines, there is now an Unknown section with a single included line helpfully called Unknown.

On invoking this Unknown addon the browser returns with a Not Found Error citing:
*The requested URL /server-manager//cgi-bin/ddclient was not found on this server.*

Launching this Unknown addon and these odd error_log lines (as title) don't appear to correlate directly but I thought it best to offer them both together for any edification;~/

Normally I prefer to use PHP stuff and not anything in the cgi-bin. As far as I know the only cgi-bin stuff in use is that for the apcups addon and that is still working properly AFAIK.

Have I let something (bad) in somehow:-|

best wishes, Robert

(follow up)

Quoting the README of

DDCLIENT v3.6.2

ddclient is a Perl client used to update dynamic DNS entries for accounts
on many dynamic DNS services.

IMPORTANT:   The format and options used by ddclient have CHANGED.
Please examine the sample configuration file.
It is highly recommended that you take advantage of the
      new daemon mode of operation.

IMPORTANT:   The installation location for the ddclient script has changed from
         /root/bin/
      to
         /usr/sbin/

End of quote.

So maybe all that earlier stuff was associated... whatever. Along with a lot of other strangeness I decided that it was probably time for a wipe/rebuild of the server;~/ This has now been carried out but I don't intend loading the ddclient addon this time around... at least not for the moment.

Hope the follow up is of some use to someone doing a search:-)

best wishes, Robert
