Title: Password expires windows XP

Hello,

I have a small network and I have a domain set up on SME server 6.0b, I have successfully got XP to log onto the domain and got roaming profiles and evrything to work fine, My only gripe is that everytime anyone logs ontot he domain they are told,

Your password expires today and are asked to renew it. Is there a way that I can set mandatory passwords and not let users change it, or even just stop this message from

If you go into the manage users section in windows xp you can set the passwords to never expire which will stop this message. Default behaviour for windows machines on domains is passwords that expire

This is for Local users? As the machines are logging onto the domain there are no Local users. Or maybe I just do not quite understand what you mean?

Nevermind I found the solution.

My servers date was Set to 1999.

If you want to stop something like that happening you should consider using the ntp time service rather than setting it manually. I use this one

ntp.ise.canberra.edu.au
