Title: Double internet connection
Post by: Luca Cimatti on September 08, 2003, 07:24:31 PM
Hi,
we have two internet connection with two DSL routers.

                                          / ->routerA->internet
network(192.168.0.0)->sme5
                                          \ ->routerB->internet

Is it possible to use one connection for browsing internet and the other one
for sending/receiving e-mail?
I think that changing iptables rules isn't enough, but we have to add a
third network card and modify routing tables.
It would be useful if the settings are easy to change, so if one router is down,
all the traffic can be redirected on the other one (backup).

I found this contrib:

but anyone got it working with sme 5.6U4?
What are the settings under iptables?

Thanks
Luca

Sorry, the right graph is:

________________________/ ->routerA->internet
network(192.168.0.0)->sme5
________________________\ ->routerB->internet

It'd be simpler to get a device such as this:

I was thinking specifically of the Nexland 800 but it seems Nexland has been assimilated by Symantec, so who knows if you can get one.
