Title: backup failure
Post by: scott on September 12, 2003, 04:43:53 AM
YIKES!!!!!
I did a restore on SME 6.0 from version 5.6 and none of the users have permission to access there files.  What happened and how should I fix it?  Thanks.

Did you restore the users and groups first.

I think they have to exist before you can import data and assign ownnership to files...

I have done an upgrade from v5.6 to 6.0b3 without seeing the same issue, but not a restore.  Where you restoring from tape or desktop backup?
Did you use v6.03 and apply the available updates to it?
Don't forget to run:
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event post-upgrade
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event reboot

If you think it's a bug, don't forget to send it to smebugs@mitel.com

If it's still a problem, you may want to revert back to SME5.6 and wait for a response from your bug report.

I was able to finally get it working, but now my email doesn't work and my address book isn't there.  I get the following error when adding to my addressbook:
  DB Error: no such field

FYI  - I posted this in a different thread.
