Title: Conflicts when installing Darrell May's mailfront mailrules
Post by: Jesper Holck on September 23, 2003, 11:33:10 PM
In order to handle the thousands of mails coming due to the Swen virus, I've tried to install Darrell May's mailfront mailrules for v. 5.5 from contribs.org. But I get warning messages from rpm:

[root@Anton rpm]# rpm -ivh mailfront-0.81-1.i386.rpm

file /usr/bin/pop3front-auth from install of mailfront-0.81-1 conflicts with file from package mailfront-0.74-1

file /usr/bin/smtpfront-reject from install of mailfront-0.81-1 conflicts with file from package mailfront-0.74-1

[root@Anton rpm]# rpm -ivh e-smith-mailfront-0.3.7-02dmc.noarch.rpm
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
file /etc/e-smith/events/actions/mailfront-conf-control from install of e-smith-mailfront-0.3.7-02dmc conflicts with file from package e-smith-mailfront-0.2.3-01

file /etc/e-smith/templates/etc/tcprules/tcp.smtp/90default from install of e-smith-mailfront-0.3.7-02dmc conflicts with file from package e-smith-mailfront-0.2.3-01

Should I just overwrite the conflicting files?

No, you should use -Uvh as the RPM flags (as you really should any time you're installing RPMs).
