Hey ppl,
I've looked everywhere, and spend days looking for it, and can't find it. I'm sure it's all over here.
But I've installed some RPMS that is going to make my life easier.
Now I have in the Server manager, the Menu down the left hand side.
A main heading called "Unknown"
And then I have package names underneath that......with weird names.
I'd simply like to change the names of those, and make the "Unknown" heading called "Utilities" or something like that
Any help would be REALLY REALLY appreciated.
I just need to know what file to edit.
Thanks

Nevermind, I found a link saying to run
'/etc/e-smith/events/navigation-conf'
And it fixed it....it also got rid of the ones I didn't want in Unknown.
Which is good I suppose.

Hi Finchwizard
"Fortunately"
/etc/e-smith/events/navigation-conf
is not present in 6.0 b3
:-(
-
it is in the /etc/e-smith/events/actions/navigation-conf
and it did its magic for me.
-
Hi Boris
...thanks for the hint. The magic worked ... :-(
even while I _was_ using 6.0b3... :-(((
BUT: Fair WARNING... I GOT lots of errors on line 407
....now all of the extensions, the top Mitel header and more stuff I installed are gone from the list...
Maybe I was just unlucky but I it seems my function "database" is gone.
So fair warning everybody - KNOW WHAT YOU DO before you issue that command.
Guess it's a case for the backups -or is there an easy way to recreate the correct command database. (I really would have liked to get those "unknown"s into place.)
Regards
Reinhold
(Boris please note I _am_ still greatful for the hint this seems to be the place !)
(and I'm still stumbling around SME and had installed for testing quite a lot more than I should probably have... so it is most likely a side effect).

Yeh, sorry, that's where I meant, I just forgot to type in /actions/
But I would still like to know where the file is I can edit, cause I'd like to add in some links as well to other parts of the server I use.....
Like http://server-name/cacti
Which is what I'd like a link to in the server manager, as well as other parts of the server I'm going to be installing, just as a central place I can go to anywhere for, I'm trying to make this as easy as possible for ppl to use.
Thanks
Finchwizard.
BTW - Does anyone else know if I can get a RPM for SNIPS? Or know of a program like it?
Thanks

Hi,
There is no particular file to edit. The server manager
reads links from
/etc/e-smith/web/panels/manager/cgi-bin and
inserts them into the navagation panel to the left.
These links are pointers that point to cgi-scripts in
/etc/e-smith/web/functions.
I found this because I am looking for the syntax to create
a new link to a panel I created.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction.
I'll repost if I find what I am looking for.

Hello,
I would also be interested in more information on this.
I have created some scripts that allow the customer to release/renew external ethernet, tape refresh scripts etc.
Basically would like a heading on the left nav panel called custom or whatever, and below it have the links to these scripts.
