Title: SpamAssassin running ?
Post by: Ergin on September 27, 2003, 11:34:04 AM
Hi there !

I've posted the message to smebugs as well... Not really sure if it's a 6.0 beta 3 issue

I've installed spamassasin a few months ago and in server-manager page I can configure... I still get spammed and looks like it doesn't work. I've sent e-amails from different accounts and none was blocked...

A few rpms installed in my system

sortspam-1.0.0-01
e-smith-spamassassin-0.0.2-1
spamassassin-tools-2.60-1
spamassassin-2.60-1
perl-Mail-SpamAssassin-2.60-1

and I think I've all the other perl modules from contribs.org.

If there is anything else you want to know ask away. TRhanx in advance...

Ergin,

I assume you are using the spamassassin contrib for SME (" .. in server manager .."). It requires procmail to be enabled for the receiver's account. I would look into the headers of a received mail to see whether spamassassin had a chance to work on that mail.

Regards,

Doesn't look like SpamAssassin saw that mail at all. In other words: No procmail. Try enabling it in the user-manager for that particular account and set the logging to "A lot".

You might try this thread:

http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=18452.msg72463#msg72463

or

Do a search for "Spamassassin" and "6.0 " setting  the search time for 90 days or more to get more results.

Thanx!

After a little more searching and playing with Userpanel things are going on the right direction.

I've got .procmailrc and ./spamassassin/user_defs in order and now I will wait a few days to see how it turns out. Thanx again for all the suggestions and help.
