Has any one managed to get Samba network recycle bin working in an Ibay. It works fine in user space but doesn't seem to work in an Ibay.

Certainly works on Ibays with 6.0beta3

I use sme-recyclebin from http://www.e-smith.dyndns.org/, which also recycles i-bays. I've seen an other contrib on contribs.org that would only recycle the users' directories.

Strange, I am using sme-recyclebin but it doesn't seem to work in an ibay. How have you got the ibays set up.

following the how-to (sparse for me), and installing the rpm (both from contribs.org maybe) the recycle bins were created (on first delete), ibays and users. the ibays didn't work (no files appeared in bin) until I changed the ownership which hadn't matched the ibay (or wasn't accessible to users to whom the ibay was accessible). Other then the name of the recycle bin, I don't think I changed anything else from what the rpm did.

It worked out of the box for me. The only restrictions I found are:
1/ It won't work on empty documents (big deal)
2/ It won't work if the user hasn't write permissions on the root of the ibay.
3/ When you mount a share to a subdirectory of an ibay, the .recyclebin will still reside in the root of the ibay. For example your share is /home/e-smith/files/ibays/myibay/html, then the recyclebin will be placed in /home/e-smith/files/ibays/myibay and hence not show up in your Windows Explorer.
Hope this helps

FWIW, I'm running 5.5 with little knowledge, but my Recycle Bin resides in ../files, and is accessible to Explorer, to all users of that ibay's "files" directory (probably because most of our ibays are configured through the admin panel to an effective root or 'share' of ../files/).

Cheers Guys, got it working.
