Greetings all,
I am at a loss at this point to figure out why I am getting such crummy file transfer speeds over my lan. I am using a 10baseT network and it is taking upwards to 3 minutes to transfer a 500Kb file to the server.
It seems to be the same if I save across the windows network or FTP.
Also it takes 4-5 times as long to transfer a file to the server than it does to download it from the internet through the server to my windows machine.
With regards
Ron

Update:
I used Wget to grab a few files from the web for the server and averaged 87.47KB/s on my download speed. So, it appears to be an issue on the LAN side of the box only.

Check your duplex settings.
Disable Autonegotiate.
Try all the combinations of 10, 100, full duplex and half duplex.
THE most common lan problem I've ever seen.
