Version 4.1.1 (Will go to 4.1.2 but don;t want to loose testbed yet)
I've just started to use IBays, and have found the following problem
1). I use a dynamic DNS name server
2). Primary Web and FTP works fine
3). Create IBay called XXX, Group Everybody, Ful FTP access.
Ok..
Primary Web and FTP work fine. I can read my Web page and get my files.
However I need to make an upload directory so that anyone can upload to just there..
Next the IBays
I can access the IBays web site ok, however the system gets very confused over the IBay FTP. from what I can see ftp-ing to aaa.com/XXX tries to find an XXX diectory on the PRIMARY site, not goto the ftp of the ibay. I've confirmed this via testing.
I have read and re-read te manual on IBays again and again. The forums have a LOT of wntried on IBays and FTP problems..
Can someone give the group the DEFINITIVE way to set up an IBasy for FTP - including access type permissions for the common senario's
Access Anon with download/upload
Access Anon with downlaod - password to upload
Access Password for both upload/download
And the permissions to set on directories and files to enable a 'public' upload facility on a site where ALL other directories are read only.
Yes. - I know its a lot of Q's - but it covers 95% of what people want to do with an Ibay.
Yours Sincerely
Dave

I kinda have the same problem... but, since I am a newbie here at e-smith, I thought I would look a little further before I start asking silly questions :)
The only thing I want to do: create a ftp-account on my server so that other people can use it. Nothing more, nothing less. But, once I created an i-bay, everytime I try to connect, it jumps into anonymous mode, either local or from outside. why why why?
I created a username, group and i-bay, but it won't work...
suggestions?

I have a static IP so this might not help.
I followed the instructions in this thread:
http://www.e-smith.org/bboard//read.php?f=3&i=4702&t=4702
I now have read/write access to an ibay via FTP. This is not a perfect solution since I can only access the \files directory. I'd like to be able to get to \html. I think this can be done by modification of a template, but I have not yet figured out how to do it.
Make sure that you follow the instructions here:
http://e-smith.org/custom/
and modify the custom templates, else the updates to the template don't work.
