Dear all
I have been reading the links here about how a number of users have changed the default mail sizes to be able to upload and receive larger mails. There is alot on here about it and ive read quite alot of entrys.
I ve made the changes on my system for webmail and q-mail and now i cant send or receive mail. is there any way to default this so i can start over. I wanted to set the webmail upload and the qmail mail maximum to 25 meg.
I have picked out the links relevent to me but it's not helping? I have even looked in to Charley brady's how to but cant find the rpm he suggests to down load as the link appears to be missing.
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/CharlieBrady/RPMS/noarch/e-smith-php-1.5.0-03.noarch.rpm
I can stop and restart the service ok so i know it's running.

Hi byte
good speaking to you again.
yeah i looked at those links even looked for the rpm stated ie e-smith-php-1.5.0-03.noarch.rpm but cant actually find it look's like it may be removed. Been to a number of contribs sites but no luck.
However what i did notice was according to charlies peice of how to set this up ie below, i found that no matter what i just couldnt send or receive mail at all.
Charlies Peice:
Add these settings into the configuration database to increase the maximum attachment size to 25MB:
Expand the template:
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop php MaxExecutionTime 1800
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop php MemoryLimit 100M
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop php PostMaxSize 25M
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop php UploadMaxFilesize 25M
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/conf-php
Then restart httpd:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd-e-smith graceful
now i dont know whether he was actually telling me to put the line in as the following /sbin/e-smith/config setprop php MemoryLimit 100M but i changed the above to get it working again.
Expand the template:
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop php MaxExecutionTime 1800
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop php MemoryLimit 100000000
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop php PostMaxSize 20000000
/sbin/e-smith/config setprop php UploadMaxFilesize 20000000
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/conf-php
Then restart httpd:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd-e-smith graceful
and for my qmail i did the following.
/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop smtpfront-qmail \MaxMessageSize 20000000
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event email-update
Now i have my mail working again..phew.
If any of this is wrong in any way byte then give us a nudge so i can put it right.
Cheers for getting in touch byte really appreciate it

one way to try that out is do an rpm -qi e-smith-php that will give you details of rpm currently installed if it is

Since it's way out of date, I've now removed it. The rest of the HOWTO can be followed, but just skip the bit about upgrading to the version of e-smith-php. Send Darrell a mail asking him to update the HOWTO.
