Is it possible to upgrade from 5.5 to 5.6 without doing a boot? I have a new system I need to install for a mail server, and I just keep getting an error while the 5.6 CD boots. Keeps complaining that PCI is not supported, and if the CD used LILO to load and let me pass options I could pass the needed option to the system, but that is too easy of an option. I can install everything from 5.1.2 to 6.0b3 but not 5.6,
Is there a way to do a live update while the server is running? RPM -Uvh *.rpm or something like that?
or is there a way to pass options while booting the CD?

No.

Then install 6.0b3 then updates.

I'm sure that it's been mentioned here before. Hold shift, then type:
accept options ...
