Title: On-Board net work cards?
Post by: Stuart on June 17, 2001, 04:50:17 PM
Has anyone had much luck with on-board nic's, sis630 preferably. E-Smith seems to find the adapter O.K but can never bring the device working.

I am using a pc-chips m-board with onboard sis lan, it worked for a while (2 days) and then the network slowed down to the point that ssh timed out on login half the time.  Plugged in a generic ne2000 (linksys) and all is fine now.

I thinhk the onboard nics are not quite up to server tasks!
