Title: chmod 5.6
Post by: Jim Gooch on November 16, 2003, 01:11:30 AM
Been through the search & found the 10LimitSiteChmod notes but this doesn't appear to work. Anybody know how to allow chmod to FTP users in 5.6 ?

I think there is something wrong with your group permissions
Try to check that first

Thanks for the response Grub. I had actually got it to work but didn't realise as I was testing with the wrong file. When you create an IBay you get a default index.html in html but its created as root.group - I was stupidly trying to test the Limit SITE_CHMOD by ftping and trying to change that file ! Anything the user uploads themselves - assuming correct group etc - can of course be CHMODed. Doh !

The upside - did a lot of reading about the workings of PROFTP and found some other useful stuff that I may end up implementing.Grub wrote:
