Can 6.0b3 be installed over 5.6? Is there anything special that I need to do before the install/upgrade to insure that I don't loose the current configuration?
Thanks,
Mark

Yep.

No. You should of course do a complete backup...

Just upgrading should make sure your configuration remains "tight".

As long as you have no added packages (3rd party add ons) on your 5.6 install then you can expect it to go smoothly. Don't forget to do all the post beta 3 updates also.

I've done the upgrade and I've run into a problem. The server boots fine, but I can't ping it, http to it or receive an IP address from the DHCP server. An suggestions?

Maybe run the configuration from the console (login as admin)
The update went very well for me.

Try reversing the ethernet cables, either physically or in the server manager setup. I have seen this before where it selected the internal and external cards incorrectly when doing an upgrade.
