Title: Kernel Panic with USB printer
Post by: JoshuaB on November 18, 2003, 06:46:27 PM
Hello,

Here is the problem.  I have a Dell PowerEdge 1600SC (sounds right).  That works beautifully with SME 5.5 installed.  I have a USB keyboard and a PS2 mouse.  The other day I tried to connect a USB printer to the Server and as soon as I sent a print job (which didn't work) I got a kernel panic and had to restart and fsck.  I looked in the forums  (all dates) and didn't find anything.  Any ideas?

Oh, like a dumb @$$ I tried it again, another reboot and fsck.

Thanks,

Joshua

I've had the same problem with an epson c42 usb printer.  Kernal panic when it runs out of paper or ink.  I solved it by adding an additional Parallel port (PCI Card).  Works well now.

Thanks
