Title: Web Server config?
Post by: Mark Allison on November 24, 2003, 02:13:32 AM
I recently moved my SME server behind a firewall and I'm forwarding port 25 (smtp), port 109-110 (POP) and port 143 (IMAP) to the SME server and it seems to work fine. However, when I try to forward ports 80 (HTTP) and port 443 (HTTPS) to another server.  When I go to my web site is still being servered by the SME server.  Is there something on the SME server that needs to be changed?

Thanks,
Mark

As mentioned here before, the services running on those ports need to be stopped before they can be forwarded.

Is that true even if they are being forwarded at the router?

And if I do need to turn those services off, how do I do it?

Thanks,
Mark

I found an older post that suggested shutting down squid.  I did and it's working fine now.

Thanks,
Mark

Ohh, the firewall you're forwarding from is not a SME box, then my answer isn't aplicable.  Sorry.
