Hi Daley, see below:
http://www.leiinc.com/repository/Linux/Mitel_SME_Server/HowToGuides/sme56_imp-horde-php_upgrade.htm
--------------------Quote from the above how-to---------------------------------------------------------
"Due to changes in library files used by IMP and Horde, upgrading one of these apps requires that one upgrade all of them. Note: This isn’t 100% true. One may be able to keep the stock PHP install, but the author hasn’t tried it. Upgrading PHP is what led to this Howto in the first place :-)"

I would upgrade together...

Hi Craig,
checking back to the SME history, mitel does not really announce changes for the IMP system, does it mean that as long as the sme server maintain the minimum php requirement would be sufficient to run the imp service.
Do you foreseen any incompatibility if we upgrade the php?
Thank you,
Daley

Hi Daley,
The best method of keeping your imp/php up-to-date would be to follow the contribs of Dan Brown. He has been the maintainer of these packages (php, imp, horde, etc) for some time (http://www.familybrown.org). One problem though, I am not able to access the usual location of Dan's contrib files. I have emailed asking if there is another location.
If you follow the how-to you have referenced you should be fine. However, my experience has been that if you miss any of the little details in the process you may have trouble :-)

Hi Craig ,
http://www.familybrown.org/howtos/ and http://public.planetmirror.com/pub/e-smith/contrib/DanBrown/RPMS/, aren't the one that you are looking for?
Hope this is useful for you.
Thank you,

Daley, that's right, or any other e-smith.org mirror should work as well. Thanks for jumping in!
