Title: qmail
Post by: ben on November 27, 2003, 08:05:34 AM
hello
we run sme 5.6 in our office as a mail server. over the last 3days there has been 1000's of email sent out of our server. im faily new to linux and can't find which username they originate from. i need to shutdown qmail, but the docs i've found refer to qmailctl which doesn't seem to apply to this server. any ideas? im sure this isn't configured for open relay. also how do u clear the queue in qmail?

thanks
ben-

Try this:
http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/e-smith/contrib/JayMiller/RPMS/noarch/

It's a servicescontrol RPM

Also look for qmhandle at contribs.org to manage the mail queue

Have you applied the latest updates for v5.6 ?? (thinking that your server may have been compromised)

having got the queue cleaned, and reset the machine etc i tried sending some msgs from a local user to a hotmail account. these msgs are just sitting in the queue as shown by qmHandle. i can't seem to send them out.
