Title: Squid, Proxy auth, and XP clients
Post by: Chris-M on December 08, 2003, 03:32:49 PM
Hi! Running SME 6.03b patched up with the proxyauth contrib..

From my windows 98 machine (IE5.5)...
I open internet explorer (defaults to google.com) enter my proxy auth details and then google.com loads...
From a users XP machine (IE6)...
Open internet explorer (defaults to google.com) enter proxy auth details and they then get an 'Action cancelled' page. On clicking refresh the page loads (almost like IE decides the load attempt has failed before the proxy auth can finish).

Also (just for XP users*). When the user clicks a link that opens in a new window, the window appears, but the contents of it do not update (i.e, it retains the image of whatever was behind it). On clicking stop, and then refresh, the page loads properly.

Any ideas as to why this would happen? Apologies if this has already been answered somewhere, my search attempt wasnt too good ;)

Ta, Chris

* We have one windows 2000 client, and that works fine

IE6 SP1 has a bug.
Install the following hotfix.
